Jacklin Webb

Retired, Principal, English Montreal School Board, actress on stage and in film.

Ms. Webb was a teacher and later Principal with the PSBGM and the English Montreal School Board for 36 years. Now retired she is enjoying spending time with her family and working in the community. She has been involved with Black Theatre Workshop since she first acted with the ensemble company in the 1979 production of A Raisin in the Sun. She has been the President of Black Theatre Workshop since 1994 and member since 1988.

Dr. Clarence Bayne

Director of Institute for Community Entrepreneurship and Development (ICED) John Molson Business School, Concordia University

Dr. Bayne moved from the West Indies to study at the University of British Columbia, where he obtained a BA (1958) and MEcon (1960). He completed his PhD at McGill (1977) and now currently teaches at Concordia University (JMSB). Dr Bayne has made many contributions to the Black community in Quebec especially in the arts and his development work. He is best known as being one of the founding members of the Black Theatre Workshop and has been the Vice-President since 1991.


Secretary

Dr. Horace Goddard

Director, Community Service, English Montreal School Board

Dr. Horace Goddard is an educator and writer. Since 1995, he has been the Director of Community Services with the English Montreal School Board. Trained in education, he was a teacher, Vice-Principal and Principal before he joined the EMSB administrative team. Dr. Goddard is also active in the community and is involved in a number of organizations including Black Community Resource Centre; Quebec Board of Black Educators (QBBE); National Council of Black Educators; Canadian Association of Commonwealth Language and Literary Studies. As a writer, his works include poetry, fiction and children’s stories. He has been on the Board of Black Theatre Workshop since 2003.

Wendy Goin

Accounting Management,  REVAY & Associates Lmt.

Wendy is an accounting manager by trade but has a love for the arts. She is a Contributing Editor at the Montreal Community Contact and has been a long time member and Past President of WestCan Folk Performimg Co. She has been a Member of Black Theatre Workshop since 2005.

Levi John

CEO, Everest Technology Solutions Inc. Technologies

Mr. John is a technology specialist working with Everest Technology Solutions. He was first a Board member with Black Theatre Workshop in 2006, then took a leave of absence and then returned again in 2011.

Dave LaPommeray

Mr. LaPommeray has a Bachelor’s Degree in Law as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre with a Specialization in Drama for Human Development. As a performer he has appeared on multiple stages, including playing the title role in BTW’s 2012 production of Harlem Duet. He also has several film and television credits to his name. Having passed his Bar exams, Mr. LaPommeray is just entering a career in Law. He has been a member of the Black Theatre Workshop Board of Directors since 2013.
