The play takes place in a family-run Harlem barbershop. Two brothers begin to resent the control their sister has over their father since she is the main provider for the family. In order to earn money and respect, the elder brother chooses to go into the liquor bootlegging business.
L’action se déroule à Harlem, dans un salon de coiffure familial. Deux frères sont de plus en plus contrariés par l’emprise que leur sœur exerce sur le paternel depuis qu’elle subvient aux besoins de la famille. Afin de gagner un peu d’argent et de respect, l’aîné se lance dans le commerce illégal de l’alcool.
